Real Sociedad vs Malaga predictions- Malaga have perhaps not been playing as badly as their league situation suggests but with them propping up the division heading into December these are certainly worrying times on the Costa del Sol. Their predicament is unlikely to get any better here up against an exciting Real Sociedad side that is scoring plenty of goals.
Sociedad had already secured Europa League progression ahead of their final group game against Zenit on Thursday, allowing them to focus their preparations on this one. Their league form has dipped a little bit following a bright start but they are still playing some really good football at times and they will look to take command of this game from the off.
They’ve scored six times in the opening fifteen minutes already this term in La Liga. 57% of their goals scored and only 38% of their goals conceded have come in the first half so they’ve tended to be fast starters. They’ll be slightly disappointed not to have won more home matches but they have put in a couple of very convincing home displays against Villarreal and Eibar and they do average 2.29 goals per home game.
They’ve also been ahead at the break in all of their last five home wins in La Liga and there’s a real danger here that they could just have far too much firepower for a Malaga side that has conceded 2.29 goals per game away from home. Given that, backing Sociedad/Sociedad HT/FT looks to offer value in this one.
Real Sociedad vs Malaga predictions
Although they briefly gave Real Madrid a scare in their last away match, Malaga have been dreadful travellers this season. They are yet to pick up an away point in La Liga, losing all of their 8 competitive away fixtures this term. Therefore they will certainly be travelling more in hope than expectation here.
Some minor reason for optimism for them comes from a slightly shaky home defence. Both teams have scored in 86% of league games at the Anoeta this term. Sociedad have just a 14% clean sheet ratio overall in La Liga so backing Real Sociedad & Both Teams to Score could also be worth considering.
In terms of a goalscorer bet, going for Willian Jose to score anytime looks good. The Sociedad frontman has scored in four straight league games heading into this and up against a very poor Malaga defence he could well extend that run.
