Real Betis vs Girona predictions

Real Betis had been having a pretty good season until their shock 5-0 loss at struggling Eibar on Monday night. Their attacking approach does see them over-commit at times but we are unlikely to see any radical changes here, with Quique Setien a coach who is consistent in his philosophy even when his team suffer heavy defeats such as that.

This is certainly a game that has the potential to deliver goals. Betis matches this term average of a huge 3.83 goals per game in total while that figure is even higher just counting their matches in Seville. 83% of their home games have produced over 2.5 goals. They rank in the top six for goals scored, averaging 1.75 per game but following Monday’s drubbing, only Las Palmas have a worse defensive record than their 2.08 goals per game conceded.

On current form, Girona will believe they can get a result here and will be quite positive in their approach you’d imagine, which should also increase the likelihood of goals here. Both teams have scored in all of their last six league outings and 6 of their last 7 have produced over 2.5 goals.

Therefore the stats for both sides strongly suggests there is real value to be found here by backing Over 2.5 Goals in what should be an open game with plenty of chances at both ends of the pitch.

In terms of the result, it’s a little harder to call but Betis look short at around Evens for the win. Their form has really dipped in recent weeks with just 1 win from their last 6 games and that was at home against struggling Alaves. They’ve only taken 1 point from their last 3 matches and none of those were particularly difficult fixtures. Girona meanwhile are on a roll right now with 10 points from their last 4 league games and backing Double Chance – Girona or Draw could be worth considering here.

If you fancy a goalscorer bet, going for Christian Stuani to score anytime looks like the best approach. The Uruguayan has scored in all of his last five league appearances and will really fancy he can keep that run up against a Betis defence that shipped five earlier in the week and is prone to making mistakes.
