Nantes v Nice predictions

Nantes v Nice predictions- Both Nantes and Nice have been looking upwards in Ligue 1 in recent weeks and the sides’ clash this Sunday promises to be an interesting match. The hosts’ form may have stuttered slightly of late but they still remain 5th in the division after drawing 1-1 with St Etienne in their last game and beating champions Monaco 1-0 the week before that.

Few will have expected Claudio Ranieri’s team to do as well as they so far this campaign, but with a generally favourable fixture list going into the winter break, there are more opportunities for points and more chances for them to cement themselves in the top five of the table. What is remarkable is that Nantes are among the lower scorers in Ligue 1 having found the net just 15 times in their 16 matches, although they have conceded just 16. Argentinian forward Emiliano Sala has stood out as the star man, netting five times, but he has had little support from other forwards or midfielders in the squad. If Nantes are to stay in the top five for the remainder of the campaign, then attacking reinforcements will surely be needed in next month’s transfer window.

Nice meanwhile, despite losing to Dutch side Vitesse on Thursday 1-0, have progressed to the knockout rounds of the Europa League along with Lazio from their group. Despite a terrible start to their league campaign, they look to have sorted out their form and are now up to 13th having won two of their last three matches.

Nantes v Nice predictions

After the side finished third in last season’s table, much was expected of them in 2017/18, but the high-profile signing of attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder has not worked out with the former Real Madrid man injured for much of the season so far. Italy striker Mario Balotelli has continued his good form however and he now has eight goals in 11 matches.
