Derby are one of the real form teams in the Championship right now. They’ve found a new lease of life in recent weeks and will head to Elland Road truly believing they can pick up another win here. It promises to be a good contest and we should see a few goals in this one.
Leeds have found life tough in recent weeks, particularly at the back. They’ve conceded twice or more in 6 of their last 8 competitive games so there should be opportunities in this for the Rams to take advantage of. Elland Road has been a real fortress for Leeds since the start of last season but they come into this following back-to-back home defeats, including a damaging 2-1 loss to high-flying Sheffield United on Friday. They have still looked lively in the final third though and only two sides can better their tally of 22 Championship goals.
This certainly isn’t a good time to be facing Derby though. The Rams are bidding for their fourth straight win here and will really fancy it, following an excellent showing at in-form Norwich last time out. They are suddenly moving the ball better and look a threat in the final third, with Matej Vydra looking particularly impressive. The Czech forward had a rare off day at the weekend but has 7 goals in 12 Derby appearances this term and is on penalty duty so backing Vydra to score anytime could be worth a punt.
Derby have let in 1.57 goals per game away though and have only managed one away clean sheet this term in the Championship so we should see chances at both ends and backing Over 2.5 Goals at 23/20 looks to offer value.
The hosts are the bookies favourites but all the momentum is with the Rams heading into this. With Leeds having lost 5 of their last 6 and Gary Rowett’s men having found top form, going for Derby Draw No Bet at 23/20 also looks good.
