Crystal Palace vs Burnley predictions

Crystal Palace may have been dumped out of the FA Cup on Monday at the hands of Brighton, but they will still be very pleased with how the last couple of months have gone under Roy Hodgson. They have managed to escape the Premier League relegation zone despite going on a seven match losing streak at the start of the campaign, and now find themselves in the lofty heights of 14th with a two point cushion over the bottom three.

It’s been a very impressive run as well. The Eagles have lost just one of their last 11 matches in the Premier League, and that includes fixtures against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Leicester. They even managed to stop Manchester City’s unprecedented winning streak in the Premier League on New Year’s Eve.

Burnley, on the other hand, have had a tough festive period after their excellent first half to the season. Their 4-1 hammering at Manchester City in the FA Cup makes it six games without a win, although they have had to face Spurs, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City in that period.

The Clarets remain up in 7th position in the Premier League, but are now seven points off 5th spot and have seen the gap between them and 8th place narrow to four points. Even so, they are just six points off the magic 40 point mark with 16 games left to play, which is excellent considering they were second favourites for relegation in the pre-season markets.

One thing that both of these sides have improved on is their attacking ability. Burnley have failed to score in just four of their 11 away matches in the Premier League this season, and Crystal Palace’s revival has seen them score in seven of their last eight at Selhurst Park.

The hosts have only managed one clean sheet at home all season though, so whilst they may be confident of finding the net, their prospects at the other end of the pitch are less promising. We’re backing Both Teams to Score for our main prediction here.

A stalemate looks the most likely outcome as well. Palace have drawn four of their last seven home games and come up against a Burnley side who have drawn their last three consecutive away matches. Backing a Draw along with a 1-1 correct score predictions looks a good idea.
